Good Morning America

Author Danny Jordan talks about his daughter as the inspiration for his new book series, The Capables.

A NOTE FROM
THE AUTHOR

I created The Capables to put children like my daughter in the hero role while encouraging readers to be more inclusive and understanding when it comes to disability.

– Danny Jordan

The Capables is an independent, self-published book and a family-run business.

Each story in the series aims to accurately and responsibly represent disability. The Capables Advisory Board plays a vital role in ensuring the stories, along with the language and illustrations used, are appropriate and support positive progress.

My 5-year-old daughter has an upper limb difference and this book means more to us than you can imagine. Seeing herself represented in this special children’s book was an important and pivotal moment that she won’t soon forget. I’ll be forever grateful to the author, the illustrator, and everyone involved in this book’s production.
